A Domain is a web address. If you look towards the top of your screen you will see a line of text which should read:

"http://www.niinternet.co.uk/domain.php".

Each web page has an address, and this is the address for this page. The domain is simply the address which is common address attribute to all of the web pages on this website. In this case the domain is "niinternet.co.uk".

Buying a Domain
When you buy a domain you should consider the following:

The domain name should reflect either your business name or the service it provides.
Get a suitable domain type e.g. get a .co.uk domain if your only selling to the uk market, a .org domain if you are a charity etc.
Ideally your domain will reflect the keywords that someone would type into a search engine (Google, Tahoo etc) when looking for your service. For example, if you had a book store in Belfast you should look to see if the domain www.bookstorebelfast.com is available. This will increase traffic to your site as you will be ranked higher in search engines when people type in those words. Do NOT make a domain name that is comprised of 4 or more words, epecially with hyphens in between the words as your domain may be considered spam by search engines.
